The Brush Off

Received the Brush Off?

The 'Senior Management Decision Letter' (SMDL) rejecting an endowment claim is not the end of the matter. However due to the long and complicated claims process, statistics show that many people who have received this letter drop the claim and miss out compensation which is rightly theirs.

This is a disappointing outcome, because as far as we are concerned a rejection "comes with the territory" and this is only the "warm up" part of the process and certainly not the end!

Moreover, our research shows many legitimate cases which perhaps just need "topping and tailing" to be successful become time-barred because of the failure to respond within the six months time limit imposed by the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) of which you will have been advised in the SMDL.

It is in your interest to contact us today.

You will have seen on the opening page of the site that we charge a set fee for handling a claim from start to successful completion. However work on rejected claims is far more expensive and carries more risk because we are dealing with the F.O.S., who may prefer to take the route of agreeing with the 'evidence' contained in the SMDL.

Our terms for this service are one third of any redress payable. We operate on a No-Win, No-Fee basis.

What do you have to lose?

Examples of the "brush-off" techniques

  • You have signed the fact find therefore "verifying" its contents
  • You already had an endowment
  • If the policy was recommended to run past your retirement date you knew this to be the case at the point-of-sale, so it was your own fault
  • Life cover was a mandatory part of your mortgage arrangement
  • Your attitude to investment risk was suitable to the policy's profile
  • Your policy was sold pre 28/04/1988 and no advice was given
  • You received a 'cooling-off' letter at the outset and chose not to take action

These are just a small selection of the 'rejections' we routinely deal with on a day-to-day basis.
